OSX Mailserver and Webmail

We are running our mail on Yosemite Server software.

In Mavericks and Yosemite we have been unable to use webmail to read our mail. Have to do so with a mail app such as Apples Mail.

Why can't I use webmail?

Have you setup a web server? Are the proper ports open? Are the ports accessible through your security scheme such as firewalls? Are you trying to access the web server from locations external to your local network and if so has your ISP allowed inbound connections to your web server?

Yes, we have a team of Apple specialists setting up our server.

We had it working with an Xserve for many years with no trouble. Upgraded toa Mac Mini Server and that sort of worked, but never as well as with the Xserve.

We have Pcs and Macs on our network.

Yes we can access our server from locations external, for example we can access a locally hosted Filemaker Database.

Our specialsts just claim that running Mavericks and now Yosemite Server there is no way to set up web mail.

Yosemite does not natively include webmail. What third party webmail server addon did they use? There are several available. I am not recommending this one just including it to show you that there are available addons that handle webmail.

I'll relay that information to our specialists. It is clear that webmail is not natively included with Yosemite Server.

I tried to press "this solved my questions" but saw no reaction.
