When restoring pictures from a backup, why is there blank boxes in my photos and when I click on them I can view the picture for a second then it goes blank and says "loading" . Will they eventually download or are they lost?r

I Am restoring My iPhone from a recent backup due to my iPhone being replaced. My photos are still downloading however I have noticed that when I go

into my photos there are blank spaces. When I click on the blank spaces I can view the picture for one second then it goes blank and says "loading". Will these pictures eventually download? Or are the pictures lost? How can I get them back?

iPhone 5c, iOS 8.4
