MMacBook froze. I restarted and thE OS X utilities box came up. I selected Disk Utility and ran verify on the Macintosh HD and it said that there was an invalid sibling link and the "volume Macintosh HD was found corrupt and needs to be repaired." Will doing this cause me to lose files?
It won't itself do so, but the problem might have. Back up your data as soon as you can.

Use the Disk Utility on the recovery partition to create a disk image of your home folder, specifying a location on an external drive for it.
