iPhones can't operate under two Apple IDs.  To let the family see where your iPhone is your family needs Apple's Family Sharing set up.  With this I can tell where my wife and the kids' iOS devices are when they are on and within Wifi or Cellular data coverage and they can see me.

Actually, they can. The phones in our family use individual Apple IDs for music, and use a single one for iCloud, which is the ID used for Find My iPhone. While it is not always the best by many descriptions, we have it all set so we do not have any issues with iMessage, FaceTime or anything else.

Yes. No, but your family can use Find Friends to see where you are.

I see.  So iOS can handle a different Apple ID for Music and I see how that works.  But OP is asking how to use Find my Phone on one Apple ID and iCloud on another Apple ID and that I don't think is possible.

No, that isn't. That is why I indicated my difference and the fact that iCloud ID and Find My iPhone are the same.

Actually, you raise a valid point. Your iCloud id IS your Find my iPhone ID. You can have different Apple IDs for iCloud, iTunes & App Stores, And iMessage/FaceTime, but not for iCloud and Find my iPhone, because those two are the same.
