I've recently upgraded to itunes 12.2.2.25 on my Windows 8.1 laptop. I now cannot add folders to my music library. I can add files, I can import cd's. But whenever I select a folder to "add folder to library", the message "no items match your search" appears in the dialogue window. I worked previously.

turn on the "File, Edit, View, Controls, Store, Help" Menu bar. you can select it from the icon waaaaaaayyyyy up in the top left of the Itunes player. You will find the folder option under "file" where it used to this was from a thread i hope it works
Sorry, that's not it. The menu bar is already displayed, and I use it to get to the "add folder to library" command. That's where I have the problem.
Try Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows.
If that doesn't help then you can drag & drop from Windows Explorer into iTunes.

iTunes has changed which dialog it uses to select folders and now uses something that is more like a file browser. If you drill down too deep you'll see the "No items match your search" message because there are no subfolders. Stay in the folder above, highlight the folder you want to add, click the Select Folder button, and it will work.
