Notes field doesn't sync in Contacts

I've noticed that I can't save anything in my "notes" field in my own personal contact. I have it saved on my desktop, and it shares correctly between my work and home desktop, but not on my iPad or iPhone, which seem to function independently with respect to notes, although everything else syncs correctly. Any thoughts? Thanks.
