safari on yosemite has stopped working, restarts sometimes fixes this, how can i fix safari

I have Safari 8.0.6, on a Yosemite iMac. After returning to my mac after leaving it in sleep mode all night, safari just does not load pages. If i restart my mac, sometimes safari works again, sometimes not. It is unuseable for me , other browers, ie, Chrome , Firefox will work. I have looked at apples support pages to re safari fixes, and ad blocking software. This does seem to have occured after i downloaded and installed Ad Block. Which i subsequently removed. Any help please if you have fixed a similar problem.

Cheers Todd

Go step by step and test.

1. Empty Caches

Safari > Preference > Advanced

Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".

Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.

Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.

2. Delete Cookies

Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and other website data:

Click the “Details” button.

Remove all cookies except ones from Apple, your internet service provider and banks.

3. Safari > Preferences > Extensions

Turn off Extensions if any and launch Safari again to test.

Turn on those one by one and test.

Yesterday I used Safari for the last time, what did I use it for? Downloading Firefox. Safari kept freezing, go tired of emptying cash, history, web sites, restart, wait of for loading etc etc.

I wished Apple had taken this problem serious. I am running Yosemite on a brand new MacBook Pro. I like the layout of Safari more than any other browser but functionality should come first, right (Apple)?
