slight drop in song volume

Hi I'm running iTunes 12.2

I recently imported a .wav file to iTunes. It sounded great. As I was playing the song, I brought up the file properties. I changed "song name" and "artist". As soon as I updated this info, I noticed a slight drop in the volume, and the song is always a bit more quiet. Not sure if this is preventable, but it's rather annoying as I am trying to squeeze as much quality from these files as possible. Is there anyway to stop this slight drop in volume?
