Hello there, I have a 43" 4K Vizio TV that supports 4k at 60 hz.

I was outputting my macbook at 30 hz with HDMI 2.0 cable, but the response was kind of slow.

What do I have to do to output at 60 hz? I know that the HDMI output is limited to 30 hz but I wonder if I get a thunderbolt to HDMI adapter I might be able to do the trick, has anybody know the answer?

thank you for the answer, unfortunately this article doesnt solve my question on how/which adaptor/cable I need to transmit in 60 hz

I researched this a little bit. Get a display port hookup somehow. HDMI seems to suck at 4k, because it can't even do 60hz. Get a Thunderbolt to Display Port converter and try that. Also make sure you're at the supported resolutions, adjust it until it works.

Sadly the TV doesn't have a display port input, only HDMI, supports 60 Hz though. My problem is in finding a Thunderbolt to HDMI converter that supports 60 Hz, all that I have seen only goes 30 Hz. I'll wait for the next apple event to see if we get some news about it, thank you for your answer.
