iBook started crashing and podcasts do not execute last play

It started after installing the latest IOS 8.4.1 on my Ipad Air.

The iBook app crashes after a few minutes of idle. I had tried to restart the device which allows a short period of access and I am able to continue reading. But when it's idle for a few minutes, i can't manage to go into the app and it starts crashing.

Same goes for the Podcast app. After the restart the app works fine but it does not continue from last played portion. The app also crashes after it has been left idle.

Another issue i found out was that I am not able to go into the iCloud / iTunes & App Store tab under Settings after the ilde. It works fine right after the restart but not after the idle.

I wonder if the apple id is the source of the crashes.
