Q: Mbp retina not booting after a kernel panic

Hi folks, my mbp retina is not booting anymore after a kernel panic. it gets stuck after 1/5th of the loading bar in the white apple screen.

since i'm in cambodia i took it to an apple store to have it serviced. it went through 2 diagnostics and everything was fine so i got bit of relieved. i hope it's just something like the filesystem or something like that.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013), no water damage, never fell etc

At the shop did the tech try restarting the computer in Recovery Mode? You do this by restarting and holding the command R key. If the doesn’t work reboot into internet recovery mode - command option R. If you have to use internet recovery mode you’ll probably have no choice but to repartition the drive, download OS X, and restore from a backup. If you can start in recovery mode it would be worth trying to run Disk Utility and if that passes (or if you repair the drive and it passes after the repair) and then reinstall the OS.

Its not going into recovery mode... The web diagnostics went through almost everything than stopped because the power adapter I have with me is the 13" one, not the 15" (I'm Traveling light and got my gf's one only).

it's going into recovery even if I use an external USB key with yosemite install files. I think the only chance I have is to connect to my gfs laptop using a thunderbolt cable and see what I can recover before formatting.
