Q: re-receiving old messages

Every couple of days I re-receive a slew of old SMS messages on my Apple Watch (but not on my iPhone). These are all messages I have previously received on my iphone and apple watch, and are 1 to 4 weeks old.. They are all from different senders, some of them use the same cellular provider as me, some don't. I have confirmed that the messages are not being resent by the senders. Is anyone else having this issue?

Apple Watch, iOS 8.4, null

Check for any carrier setting updates on your iPhone:

    - Settings > General > About - if an update is available, a prompt will appear.

Also try resetting the network settings on your iPhone (you will need to re-establish any Wi-Fi connections afterwards, if configured):

    - Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Then restart both your iPhone and Apple Watch

    - Restart Apple Watch: Press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; Drag the slider to turn off completely; Afterwards, press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.
