iTunes Library

I am getting a " The file 'iTunes Library itl' cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes" after i uninstalled and reinstalled itunes on my windows computer, Please help!

It sounds like you are unable to open your iTunes library because it was created with a newer version of iTunes. The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great information on how to upgrade your iTunes:


Get the latest version of iTunes - Apple Support


If you have iTunes installed on your computer, follow the directions below to update to the latest version of iTunes.

If you don't have iTunes installed on your computer, download it here.


Windows

  1. Open iTunes.
  2. If the menu bar isn't showing, hold down the Control and B keys to open it. Learn more about the iTunes for Windows menu bar.
  3. From the menu bar, choose Help > Check for Updates.
  4. Follow the prompts to install the latest version.

If you are not prompted to install a new version of iTunes, you already have the latest version your operating system can support. See the System Requirements on the iTunes download page.
