Personal Hotspot password not workng

I am seeking to use Persoal Hotspot with an iPhone 4 on v8.3.

I Have gone into Settings and selected Personal Hotspot. I have changed the password to something more memorable than the default. However, when I try to tether my iPad I can find the iPhone on the list of networks, but get a message saying that the password is incorrect. I have, helpfully, not kept a note of the default passwor, so am not able to revert to that.

have I missed a step somewhere?

iPhone 4, iOS 8.3

Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, you are having trouble connecting to the Personal Hotspot. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

If it were me I would try finding the network on my iPad. Then choose "Forget this network". Then attempt to join again and retype what you think the password is set to. If that fails re-enter the password in the hotspot settings on the phone, turn hotspot off, and on, and begin again.
