my ipods date and time is set to 1970 and i cant change it!

My ipod touch 5th generation time froze at 7:54 and stayed like that until i had to change it every hour. It let me access my apps and safari but ever since it changed to january 1st 1970 i havent been able to access my apps or safari (besides photo gallery). Ive tried everything on google, but nothing seems to work.
