ipod touch 5 cover flow no longer showing

After having recently upgraded to iOS 8.4.1 on my ipod touch 5th gen, I noticed that rotating the device while playing music no longer displayed the album cover mosaic, is this functionality gone?

I've checked that portrait orientation lock was off.
