iphone and ipad has different imessage delivery status

Hey guys,

so basically I have an Iphone and Ipad (both with no sim I use them via wifi). This afternoon I sent an Imessage to a friend from my Iphone but there was no "delivered" message. Then later on I was on my Ipad and I checked the Imessage on that and it says delivered so I checked my Iphone thinking it delivered on and I didn't see it but it hadn't change. So I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if my messaged has been delivered or not.
