Avoid replicating iCloud files on my Mac?
Is it possible to save space on my Mac by not storing a copy of all iCloud files locally on my MacBook Pro flash drive?

Apple doesn't currently offer any cloud-only storage options. You could make a suggestion for them to do that at http://www.apple.com/feedback/icloud.html
There are 3rd party services which do have an option to do that, including OneDrive and Dropbox.
