Q: Polar H7 Paring and Use

I have an Iwatch and a Polar H& chest strap. I cannot seem to get it to Pair. I snapped the H7 Bluetooth into place and it is not reconized by the Iwatch, or by my Iphone 6. any advice would be appreciated. Do I need a special App for it to work,or should it work on the Iwatch Health app?

I found the answer. The H7 Chest strap cannot be connected to your Iphone and Iwatch simultaneously. Make sure it is not connected to the Iphone before attempting to sync with the Iwatch

When connecting Polar H7 to the Polar Beat app, in iPhone settings ensure that bluetooth is turned on, but do not connect from there to your H7. Instead, open the Polar Beat app, tap settings and pair your HR sensor from within the Polar Beat app itself. The H7 can only connect to one source at a time (either directly from within the Polar Beat app or from within your iPhone's bluetooth settings, but not both). You will only be able to see your heart rate, on the Polar Beat app, if you connect to H7 from within the app.

Can the polar H7 be used without using the polar beat app...for instance i want to use the apple workout app on my apple watch to record a high intensity weight lifting session (i use the 'other' section in the workout app) but due to the nature of movements and clenching hands etc the apple watch heart rate monitor gives false readings (as i am aware this is a common problem for activities such as weights, crossfit etc) where a chest monitor would give true readings?

    regards
