restart after iPhone is completely dark even when charging

My iPhone 5s was fine 30 minutes ago. Now it is totally dark. Even when a charging cord is connected, the battery level does not show.

Is there a way to restart it? Could this be a start button issue? Any ideas welcome.

Hi David,

I had this problem too. you just have to press home button + sleep/wake button for a few seconds until the Apple logo appears in your screen.
