Recently, I wanted download an app on my iPad but it said I need a software 6.1 or higher.
So, I went to Settings and Software Update.
BUT It said it was up to date. My current iOS is 5.1 or 5.1.1
IS THERE AN ALTERNATIVE WAY TO UPDATE MY iOS?

For a less less money you can buy a new one.
A iPad 1 is still a good iPad. The only thing it can't do is run apps that need higher then IOS 5.1.1. Many app developers still carry the older app or you can use Safari for apps that don't, like YouTube and Facebook.
