SMC, Power Button, Sensor failure

I got this 13" mid 2009 MBP that has a number of issues.


I can only get it to power up by holding down the Power button for around 5 seconds. wait for the SIL to start flashing. release the power button. And then it powers up. Runs super slow in OSX. Hibernate does not work. would not wake up. And more recently the Wifi card does not show up any more.


As i played around with it trying to reset the SMC & PRAM. i once got it into a state where it booted with Fans on full throttle. The battery would not show in OSX and Sleep/Wake still not working. BUT: It was running quick. REAL quick. I shut it down and it powered up with just a single press of the power button.

It was still running on battery. just not showing it in the status bar. so i was quite happy. i guess i could have slowed down the fans with SMCfanControl.

Unfortunately i decided to reset the SMC again and i could not bring it back to the other state ever since. Any idea what combination i must have hit to get it there?
