I have a new phone and email address. My Apple ID switched over to my new email just fine, but the cloud won't. Every time I go into settings then to the cloud it shows my old email and won't let me change it. I'm hoping because of this glitch is why my photos are lost too...
If you just changed user name - you needed to sign out of icloud first. If you didn't there usually no problem to do that now with ios 8.
With ios 7 and rarely with 8 as well specific trick is used.
You go to apple id site - sign in to your account and temporary change your apple id back to old email. Then you quickly sign out on the devices and change email forward.
My iCloud won't change to my new email address, but my Apple ID did
