how can I download files from iCloud drive onto my laptop?

I would like to burn some photos onto a cd but my new laptop doesn't have a disk drive. I put a file of photos into my iCloud and would like to access them and burn them to a cd on an older macbook that has a CD drive. Please let me know if this is possible! Thanks!

Depends on how put these photos on iCloud.

If you dragged them to the iCloud folder in Finder, then from the older Macbook, just open iCloud.com in a supported browser, and Click on iCloud Drive from the icons there.

Your Photos should be there as you uploaded them.

If that's not what you did, you'll need to explain exactly what you did to the photos.
