Q: Just bought the 6 . My 5 is inoperable but I have photos on it that I am trying to recover. What can I do?

Set up your iPhone 6 using your iPhone 5 iCloud or iTunes backup:

SET UP NEW DEVICE FROM BACKUP

Jjust what do you mean by damaged?  Is it truly dead and will not respond in any way when you do a reboot or connect to your computer?  If you have backed it up to a computer in the past, will that computer recognize it even if damaged?

If it has never been synced with a computer and you cannot get it to operate, there isn't much left in the way of options to get the contents off the old unit.  Was it operating on iCloud recently so the photos might be in PhotoStream?  Or was it backed up to iCloud so you have something to use for the setup of the new iPhone as Gail was suggesting?  That is the only hope at this point.
