Connecting PS3 to Macbook Air through thunderbolt

I'm using Macbook Air 2013 with thunderbolt, running Windows 7 bootcamp. Question is, can I connect my PS3 to this thunderbolt on macbook via HDMI ?
For thunderbolt I may use the thunderbolt-HDMI converter head. I know people said most of laptop have only HDMI port for output only. But I think Macbook's thunderbolt is both input/output right? So can I work them out?
