Q: Boot camp assistant 6

Hi all,

Does anyone know where it is possible to download Boot Camp Assistant 6? Apple has announced it over 2 weeks ago, but if you are outside of the US there are no updates that include it (neither in the auto-updates, or App store), nor any websites to download it from.

    BC Assistant 6 is part of El Capitan.

     

    BC Assistant 5.x is available on Yosemite.

     

    BC 5.x drivers support Windows 7/8.

     

    BC 6.x drivers support W10.

     

    BC Assistant 5.x can download BC6 drivers, you do not need BC Assistant 6.

    Thanks for the quick reply, however:

    I am trying to install Windows 10, so yes, I need BC assistant version 6.

    I have the latest Boot camp assistant version (Version 5.1.4) - it tries (but is not able) to download the BC 6 drivers.

    El Capitan is not released yet, so that is not an option.


    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Run Boot Camp Assistant and choose only the menu item to download the Windows Support software.

    No. BC Assistant 5.1.4 will download BC6 drivers. Check Bootcamp.xml to verify. The following was downloaded using BC 5.1.4 on a Yosemite machine to install Windows 7.
