Logic x won't connect to UA Apollo after I quit and re open

Does anyone know why I am forced to re start my computer in order for Logic X to connect and receive input from my UA Apollo Twin? It only happens after I've quit Logic or put the computer to sleep and then try to re open Logic. I have tried changing the settings in System prefs --> Sound as well as in Logic X --> Audio routing. I've also tried, quitting Logic as well as switching the Apollo on and off. Nothing fixes it except the re start of my MacPro. This seems like such a silly issue, yet it has been happening for years with all my Macs and other interfaces by Apogee as well. I can't believe it hasn't been addressed by Apple...Anyway, if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it!

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), All UA software is up to date
