I have a 10.10.5 OS X Yosemite update waiting to down load in my App file on my iMac computer but when I click on Download it will not activate. it remains dead. I cannot get it to work over several days now. Can anyone explain this for me please. There is a Movie update awaiting download too and this is also inactive when I try to download. Thanks.

Try restarting your Mac.
Try Safe Boot:
- Shut down your Mac
- Wait until your computer turns off and after that press the Power button
- Right after you hear the startup tone, press and hold the Shift key
- Release the Shift key when you see a grey Apple sign and the progress bar below this sign
- After your Mac boots up, restart it as you usually do.
If this doesn't help, follow the instructions below:
- Shut down your Mac
- Wait until your computer turns off and after that press the Power button
- Right after you hear the startup tone, press and hold the Shift key
- Release the Shift key when you see a grey Apple sign and the progress bar below this sign
- Once you see Desktop, start a Disk Utility scan to detect and repair file system errors (don't forget to choose your main hard drive)
- Click on Verify Disk and then, if asked to fix problems, on Repair Disk
- After this, click on Verify Disk Permissions and then on Repair Disk Permissions
- After the process is finished, shut down your Mac and turn it back on after about 30 seconds
After that, try updating your Mac once again.
Too advanced for me D. Cohen but thank you very much indeed for responding to my question. I feel I would get in a greater mess if I started booting!
Further to my message about not being able to download the 10.10.5 OS X Yosemite UPDATE I now find that I am only running the 10.10.3 version and the 10.10.4 version is not visible on my Applications list. So no wonder the 10.10.5 version can't update. My question now is how do I get the 10.10.4 version so that I can update ready for the .5 version?I would be very grateful for any help anyone can give me. Thank you.
