how to connect air to mac

I use my Macbook Air when I am out on the job and then use my iMac when in the office. I do need to use both iMac and macbook when I am in the office, is there a way i can multi control my macbook Air with my iMac ? or a way to run two displays and control from just my iMac ?

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

On your MBA open System Preferences, select Sharing, and turn on Screen Sharing. You can then use Screen Sharing from your iMac to access your MBA and control it just as you were sitting at the MBA.

You can do the reverse as well, control the iMac from the MBA. The one drawback is that your iMac display is MUCH bigger than your MBA’s so you either have to allow screen scrolling - annoying - or accept that the text will be quite small. Still it is doable.
