iPhone 6 requires iTunes 11.4 or later You will not be able to connect with iTunes 11.1 because it does not have the proper drivers to recognize an iPhone 6.

System Requirements

Apple ID (required for some features)

Internet access8

Syncing with iTunes on a Mac or PC requires:

  • Mac: OS X v10.6.8 or later
  • PC: Windows 8; Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
  • iTunes 11.4 or later (free download from www.itunes.com/download)

Unfortunately there is no way around this. You will need to find a Vista supported installer if you plan on keeping Windows Vista. Otherwise, update your Windows installation, and then update iTunes.

There are several places online you may be able to get it. but be aware they may contain malware if from untrusted sources. Unfortunately, Apple does not make available older versions of iTunes.
