Every release of OS X quietly installs iWork fonts into the /Library/Application Support/Apple/Fonts/iWork directory. Bookman OldStyle is among them. However, this directory is not among the default search locations by the operating system for its fonts, and therefore won't be available to applications.

In the Finder menu, open its Preferences panel. Click on the Sidebar category, and ensure that under the DEVICES listings, that your Macintosh HD and Hard disks items are checked. Checking the rest under this category is ok too. We do this because it will be necessary when adding the iWork fonts next.

From your Dock, click on Launchpad (rocket), and in the middle of the screen, click again on Other. This is your Utilities folder, and now click on Font Book.

Along the left side is a Collections panel. What we want to do is add a new iWork collection.

At the bottom of the Collections panel, click the + symbol to add a new collection

  1. A new entry with the name, Unnamed Collection will appear and is selected. Change this to iWork.
  2. Right-click or control-click on the new iWork Collection item, and from the bottom of this pop-up menu, select Add Fonts…
  3. A Sheet will descend with a left panel. On this left panel, find DEVICES, and click on your hard drive name (e.g. Macintosh HD).
    1. You will see folders on the right for Applications, Library, System, and Users.
    2. Double-click the following in order
      1. Library ▸ Application Support ▸ Apple ▸ Fonts
      2. Select, but do not double-click the iWork folder. Choose Open.
    3. A progress bar will open and the iWork fonts read into the iWork Collection
    4. A Font Validation window will appear, preselected to All. An unselected list of the iWork fonts will appear, and you may be told that there are minor problems with these fonts. Click Select all fonts, and then click Install Checked.
    5. Font Book will now show you all of the iWork fonts that it installed, including Bookman OldStyle.

Save your work in all applications, and then quit them. Reboot your Mac. The iWork font collection, including Bookman OldStyle, will now be available to you in all applications.
