keeps on asking to verify payment information

hi my iPhone 5s keeps on asking me to verify my payment information even though the app im trying to download or update is free its really starting to frustrate me can anyone help with this problem

You need to have a valid form of payment on file even if you're getting a free app. You won't be charged for the app; however, some apps have in-app purchases enabled so you'll need that payment form on file for that.
