On Safari 5.1.1 what is the current version and should I upgrade to ?

Currently on Safari 5.1.1. What is the current verion for Safari and should I upgrade to?? Mountain Lion/Lion???

5.1.10. You should get the invitation to update what you currently have to this one in ... Apple logo > Software Update.

The current version of Safari is 9.0.1, which requires Mavericks (10.9) or better as the OS. If you haven't downloaded Mavericks or Yosemite previously, they are no longer available.
