can't delete old mail alias

i shared an email account with a relative whom is no longer with us - i created an alias for that person on my account. But now i'm unable to delete it or even see it but the mail is still coming into my inbox. Apple won't help, this is a tormenting reminder in my inbox - it's my account and they don't allow me to manage it. It's pathetic really.
