Where does iTunes file music library on Windows 8.1?

I have a new Windows PC with Windows 8.1 and having file location issues after downloading the latest Windows version of iTunes and importing:

- All songs are now duplicates and my playlists were not imported. Please no Windows vs Mac is better comments. I have been using Apple products for years...iPods, iPhones & Macbooks, just prefer using Windows as my OS for my primary PC where all my music is stored and transferred to my Mac devices.

1. My new PC has a solid state hard drive - C:/

2. All of my music files from my old PC are stored on drive E:/ (This is where I am supposed to store all my personal files) according to the tech who set up my new PC.

Here is an example when I right click on song and get song info > file location for each of the duplicate files:

- First Duplicate Song: E:/Rhonda\Music\iTunes Media\Music\artist name\album\song name.mp3

- Second Dupe Song: E:/Rhonda\Music\artist name\album\song.mp3

Regarding missing playlist issues: When I do a search to try to locate any .itl files (Playlist), they show to be located in c: users\owners\music\iTunes - not sure if this file contains my playlist or not; however there is also a folder called "Previous iTunes Libraries"

It would also be helpful to know what the standard (default) location / path is for iTunes files on a Windows 8.1 PC?

Thank you

The default path for the library is <User's Music>\iTunes, where <User's Music> is typically C:\Users\<User>\Music.

See Make a split library portable for advice on setting out your library so that it is easily moved around. If your library still works properly on your old system start there and organize it into the correct shape for transfer. If you have space on the drive the easiest way would be to copy the library files into E:\iTunes, set the media folder to E:\iTunes\iTunes Media, consolidate the library, backup (you really ought not to skip this step) then delete all the old copies of the media outside of the folder E:\iTunes.
