Channel 4 OD Ad blocker alert

Hello,

I got my MacBook Pro in Feb 2015. I was watching a programme on Channel 4 od fine the other day. Today it comes up with an alert that I have ad blocking software on my device.

I have gone into Preferences - Extensions, as some have suggested but there is nothing to uninstall.

I have downloaded Google Chrome, to use instead of Safari, as others suggested, but the message still appeared.

Any other suggestions please? Does this mean I have a virus on my MacBook as I have not downloaded anything, or really done anything on my macbook since I last watched something on 4od?

Try

Malwarebytes for Mac (was Adwaremedic)

If still problem

Run this and post the results here so we know more about your configuration.

I restarted the Mac for the second time and Channel 4 od now runs from safari.

Shall I still run that?

Well, it didn't find anything. Maybe it was a blip with Channel 4? Thanks for replying. If you think it could be anything more sinister then please let me know.
