New iTunes keeps wiping iPod music

Ever since I upgraded to the new version of iTunes and new iOS on iPod my music is constantly being removed from my iPod when it is connected to iTunes. The setting have not changed (checked them) since last version of iTunes. I've not had this issue with any of the prior versions at all. I even reset all the settings in iTunes just to be sure. Now I have to eject my iPod as soon as it syncs otherwise the files will disappear if I live it connected for a long time. Has anyone else experienced this?
