How can I tell the size of ALL the items together in my trash, "Info"shows "calculating size"size
I can't find the total size of the items in my trash. When I go to info it only shows "Size Calculating" which is grayed out. Help, please.

How I do it is after the fact, I look at how much space is available on my drive using Finder and then empty the Trash. After Trash is empty the amount of available space increases and the new total - the old total = amount of Trash.
Another method is select the Trash icon and type Command + I (I as in Ivan)
Thanks, but I want to know before I delete all in the trash. As I wrote, the info only reads (next to "Size": "Calculating size" )
Wonder if it's actually taking time, hours???, to calculate the size. I do have quite a lot in my trash.
Re-read the post! I also gave instructions on how to get the size before emptying the Trash.

Select the Trash icon, type Command + I and then wait until the size is calculated.
Any particular reason why you wan to know how much Trash you have accumulated?
So, it can't tell me immediately?! Guess that means it's BIG. I have been keeping items in trash because, I guess, I'm a bit of a hoarder. I can't bear to completely delete many of the photos. But I now realize that it's hurting my iMac's performance, that's why I want to find out how much is obviously too much. Humm it's still "calculating at of 15 minutes and counting. I think I'll call Apple tech. Thanks anyway.
