Why have my emails gone back to 4 years ago?

My iPhone 6 Plus has recently (since upgrade) have gone back to 2011 twice in one week. When I open my emails in all mailboxes (I have gmail, hotmail and verizon) the first email is from 2011. I have to swipe down to get them to start reloading and then I get the error that says "Cannot Get Mail - The connection to the server failed." I click the OK button to and swipe again to have them start downloading again.

I've tried shutting my phone completely down but I don't want to wipe it. Anyone else have this issue?
