How can I erase a specified account that already exists to reinstall Icloud?

I have been unable to update my Icloud software as each time I've tried a message appears saying there's a problem with Windows Installer. I decided to uninstall Icloud and then reinstall the latest version. Now I have nothing as a message appears during installation saying, "The specified account already exists". How to I delete the specified account to be able to reinstall? Any help gratefully received.

I had the exact problem on a WIN7 machine and I was hoping when I updated to WIN10 it would work. It didn't..

But somewhere on this forum I read a solution, tried it. IT WORKED

Open REGEDIT. Search for iCloud and delete every occurrence you can find. I do not know how many there are, but it seemed like I delete a couple hundred entries. When I finished, I tried to install iCloud again and it installed.
