How do I separate different music in my iTunes?

How do I separate different music in my iTunes? I have several different types of music. I would like to be able to separate each type so that when I go to look for that type, none of the other types are showing. I don't know if that means putting them into folders or not. And There doesn't seem to be an easy way to do that either? Can someone help??
