I bought a new iPad a few months ago and believed that I couldn't transfer my data from my computer. However, I found out that it was possible to restore my previous backup. Is there a way to combine them or would I need to choose one over the other?
I backed both iPads onto my mac.
iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.5), Late 2006
You have to select one of them to restore to.

what would happen to the other backup?
Sorry, not sure what you are asking? The other backup would remain in iTunes, and could also be used to back up a device. But restoring to a backup overwrites anything that is currently on that device and replaces it with the backup data. That's why you need to select one or the other.
