iPod has trouble connecting with charger

when I put the charging cable in the iPod I have to put pressure on the cable and push up on the cable for the charger to be recognized. I have tried different cables in order to rule out the cable. So what should I do?

iPod touch, iOS 8.4, 5th generation

If you can’t charge your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

- Try another cable. Done

- Try another charging source

- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
