Question

Display resolution on Imac 27 with Windows 7

Finally I have managed to install windows 7 via boot camp on my Imac 27 (late 2013). I downloaded all the drivers from the apple website and installed them successfully. However, looking at the display resolution I can't go higher then 1600 x 1200....why? I downloaded all the drivers and installed them, shouldn't I get a higher resolution? Do I have to download additional drivers?

Any help is much appreciated!

Did you use Install Windows 7 on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support, especially step 11 to build your USB Installer? W7 EFI Boot is not recommended, you still need to use the legacy BIOS method, not the EFI Boot. We can try EFI Boot, only if BIOS method does not work.

Hi Loner I have the same issue in my iMac 27'' late 2013 I wipeout the HDD and trying to install windows 7 with bootcamp but driver not working my display is low resolution and keyboard is not connect what do you did for yours I'm using bootcamp 6.1.0 os sierra thank you

Please post a screen shot of Device Manager -> Display Adapter. Please also show the current driver version installed.

Does a higher resolution work on the OS X side? What is the version of BC drivers that you have installed on W7 on 2013? Do they match Install Windows 7 and earlier on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support ?

Have a look at the screen shot

I downloaded the following bootcamp version for my 27 ich Imac late 2013: Boot Camp Support Software 5.1.5621 selected from the apple website for my computer. Resolution is working fine on OS X side. Any ideas?

it says std vga adaptor which mean the correct video card driver is not installed just some generic "we know this works on all video cards in the world" driver

install the correct driver from the bootcamp zip

Download drivers appropriate for your Mac from Install Windows 7 and earlier on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support and If you don't see some features of your Mac in Windows - Apple Support .

Isnt this exactly what I did? Based on this link I downloaded boot camp support software 5.1.5621, which is the coorect software for my mac. Why does this not work?

The layout of both articles lists systems, but the System Requirements are different at the bottom of the article (as shown here). You cannot use 5.1.5621, you need to use 5.1.5640.

Alright, downloaded boot camp 5.1.5640 and booted into Windows 7 x64. I deleted all the drivers and installed the drivers provided by boot camp 5.1.5640. Guess what, same problem as before. The device manager also indicates the same adapter as before. Any recommendations? Where else could the problem be? Is there any way to download drivers from another website?
