Q: Keynote 6 will not assume dominate role over other presentation software we have to use when clicked. You have to close the other software for Keynote to go to screens. Keynote 5 works fine. PLEASE UPDATE 6 to work the same way!!!!
As 1,000's of churches do, we use Pro Presenter to seamlessly run graphic videos in the background to multiple screens all while scrolling lyrics to songs over them...Pro P allows the ability to flip back and forth to words as the worship leaders lead no matter where they decide to go in the songs. It also has easy to use editing tools for us to change the color scheme of graphic loop background videos, speed of movement, etc. so that our lighting people and video people can easily collaborate on ideas to make the room come alive. In other words it as a tool that Keynote can't compete with on that platform. HOWEVER!!!! Keynote is what we want to use while I'm preaching. We would LOVE to make the shift to Keynote 6 but Apple still hasn't fixed Keynote 6 so it can to become the dominate app when you select it to send something to the screens. It will not take over the screens if something else is playing. You actually have to close any other software your using meaning you have to turn the screens off or show the entire audience your desktop screen (something distracting and tacky). This can't be a hard fix. Keynote 5 works just fine with other apps ... it plays well with others. Keynote 6 pouts and goes home! PLEASE UPDATE 6 to work the same way as Keynote 5 when working with other media Apps.
