Why do weeks on Apple Activity App calendar start on Monday instead of Sunday like all other calendars, including Apple's?

Greetings from the colonies. The Apple calendar app is correct for my region, USA. The week starts on Sunday on the Watch and my iPhone. The calendar portion of the Apple Activity app on the iPhone, however,starts on Monday. I live and exercise in the USA. You'd think that all of the calendars would be the same by default. Thanks for trying, Jonathan.
Ref my answer to Jonathan UK. I don't think I should have to take extraordinary measures to produce a standard calendar for the Apple Activity App on my iPhone. I think it should "just work" like my other calendars do. Thanks for your help.
You have nailed it. Everybody who hangs around Apple long enough becomes a control freak. I liked Jonny better as a designer.
The week starts on whichever day is considered to be the customary starting day within your region.
Your region setting can changed on your iPhone in the Apple Watch app > My Watch > General > Language & Region > Region Format.

Apologies - looks like I mixed up the Apple Watch and Activity app calendars! 😊
The Activity app calendar seems to be standardised intentionally and non-configurable.
The User Guide refers to weekly activity updates as being issued every Monday, with no variation by region: "Every Monday, you’ll also be notified about the previous week’s achievements" (this is the same notification that may also suggest a change to your daily Move goal for the new week).
If Jonathan's reply doesn't give you what you want, and you'd like the ability to set a start day for Activity, you can request it as a feature here:

Thanks again Jonathan. It's a strange way to standardize, but I guess Apple's high paid exercise guru is not a slave to convention.
It's because Jonny Ive's a Brit - he's using tis as a way to bring you colonials back under British control 😉
