How do you delete expired addresses in Mail?

When I enter an email address I will sometimes get a pop-up list of addresses for the recipient and some of them are no longer valid. These are addresses not in my current contacts. I know there is a way to get mail to forget them but I forgot the trick. Any tips?

Mail > Menu Bar > Window > Previous Recipients > delete.

If the address is no longer valid, also delete it in your Contacts app.
