MacBookPro Mid 2009 - Panasonic TC-P50X3

I am trying to connect my Mid 2009 MacBook Pro to my Panasonic TC-P50X3. I have video but I do not have audio. Could someone help me out? What cable do I need?

Your MacBook Pro's DisplayPort output is video only. For audio, connect a 3.5mm stereo audio cable to its audio output port.

I understand that is only video hence why I asked the question. That did not work either. What else can I do?
