Q: Apple ID not working in iCloud

How do I get my husband's Apple ID to connect him to the iCloud? I have reset it successfully from our MacBook Pro at least six times and each time, when I try to log in with the new password, I get a message that the email is already being used. It won't resend the verification email. His ID is working for iTunes but not for the Cloud.

We are having problems with him using my ID, which is the original one set up many years ago. When he uses my ID, both of our phones ring when I get a call. All our shared contacts are available on our iPhones, but his calendar inputs and photos do not show up on my iPhone nor our MacBook Pro.  In March 2015 an Apple Store tech set up a separate ID for him. But it stopped working, hence my trying to reset his password a half-dozen times.

We have a MacBook Pro, an older iPad, and two iPhone 6s using iOS 8.4.1

iPhone 6, iOS 8.1.3

I am having the same problem.  My old apple ID was an email address that was full of spam, so I deleted that address and created another.  On my HP, I have reset my ID.  However my phone, pad, and pod still have the old ID and I don't know how to delete it and add the new ID.  What don't they sync?

As far as how to fix his id, all I can say is you are not doing something right, cause the message like that usually shows when you try to create account and there is no point in that since it was done already.

As far as him using your id if you want to stop that ringing go to settings on your phone click facetime and change "forward cellular calls" to either off completely or only to your devices.

If you want his calendar entries to show on your devices, you need to make sure that his default calendar is icloud, because it looks like it is not.

Settings- mail contacts calendars, scroll down to calendars and change default to your icloud one.

As far as pictures, you need to check his icloud photos settings and make them the same like yours.

So place your two phones in front of you - go to settings, icloud - photos - make sure that stuff under it the same.

Thank you for the tips. However, none of them actually worked.

    - Yes, he already has an ID. The problem lies in that he can't use it for the Cloud. We have successfully reset the password several times, through our MacBook and his iPhone, but continue to receive "Apple IDs email address cannot be verified" message when trying to log into the Cloud. It tells us to change the email address; he has only one email address, cannot make up another one just for the Cloud. His Apple ID works for iTunes, App Store, FaceTime, etc., just not the Cloud. My Apple ID works for everything, using only one email address.

    - Both our iPhones have the FaceTime sharing turned off. Both phones still ring when one receives a call.

    - Default Calendar does not have an "iCloud One" option, only those options that we personally have created to show up in the calendar (i.e., social, appointments, vacations, etc.). What is iCloud One?

    - Not being able to get into the Cloud with his Apple ID, we can't check his photo settings.

The frustrating part is that his ID was working for several months, then stopped working. New passwords don't work, Apple ID continues to ask us to change the email address. Why??

That would mean that you didn't verify his apple id email, by logging in his email and clicking link. You may have to go to apple id site and resend verification email

If you didn't receive your verification or reset email - Apple Support

By that I meant the same calendar that belongs to icloud.

His photo settings are on his device and not in icloud.com site.

Judging by your responses you will not likely benefit from my explanations and you really need to go to Apple store or contact Apple care, good luck.

Each time I changed his password he received a verification email. I logged into his email, clicked the link provided, and received a positive response. Four times. But all four times when trying to log in, the "not verified" message came up, would not accept the new password(s), and said to create a new account with a new email address.

I did follow your instructions. On my phone, I go to Settings - FaceTime. There is no "forward cellular calls" option. There is a "iPhone Cellular Calls" option that does not mention forwarding. On his phone, the "iPhone Cellular Calls" option is not visible at all.  The options are totally different although we are using the same iOS.

His calendar and photos (see below) don't belong to iCloud because he can't log in. There are no Cloud settings in either of the options.

It seems not. I appreciate you taking your time in trying to help, thank you. I've made an appointment at the local Apple Store, hopefully they can get us straightened out.

ISSUES RESOLVED! Went to the Genius Bar at the Apple Store. It took them over an hour to get my husband's Apple ID to work properly, and they had to fully restore his iPhone due to some software issues. Anything I would have tried on my own to do these fixes would not have worked. Now we can access the iCloud and share calendars, photos, etc.
